From EGM Atalayas Ciudad Empresarial and CILAB Alicante 2025, we would like to invite you to participate in the Product Design Contest based on the recycling of post-consumer workwear, an initiative that promotes creativity, sustainability, and innovation applied to textile recycling.

The objective of the contest is to give a second life to discarded work textiles, transforming them into useful, sustainable products with real value for the community. Proposals that combine design, functionality, innovation, and environmental commitment, aligned with the principles of the circular economy, will be awarded.

CILAB 2024

The Citizen Laboratory CILAB, promoted by the Local Development Agency of Alicante and supported by the Department of Innovation, has used the proposals of previous years driven together with the population to advance in the social and environmental remains.

This year we have worked on a PMV (Minimum Viable Product) or testing of the proposed solutions. We have improved the products and tested the tools with some segments of the population to validate the products.

This project focuses on a “Toolkit” to develop soft skills, key to labor market insertion.

It is an open space where people and professionals can access free resources, such as videos and materials, to improve these skills.

The project is expanding, with the collaboration of experts, to improve usability and add new content.

Circular Economy in Work Clothing and Footwear

This project addresses the management of textile waste, such as work clothes and footwear, which usually end up in landfills.

In collaboration with Atalayas Ciudad Empresarial and AITEX, recycling systems have been developed to reuse these products, creating composite materials from the waste.

Impulsar la implantación y el funcionamiento de la economía circular en Alicante a través de acciones concretas, buscando un uso más eficiente de los recursos y la minimizando la generación de desechos.

Solución

Realizar una gestión circular de la ropa y calzado laboral al final de su vida útil. Esto es, alargar la vida útil o generar subproductos que tengan valor en el mercado.

Testeo en base a la selección realizada por el grupo experto.

Promover una educación alternativa de carácter complementario, integral y diversificada en Alicante, que incluya enfoques sociales (género, digitalización, economía social…), y que fomente programas formativos estables con oportunidades laborales significativas.

Solución

Programas innovadores para la inserción sociolaboral articulados en módulos de muy corta duración a modo de Kit (Kit Skills) en materia de Soft Skill y Habilidades para el empleo y/o Idiomas y /o Digitalización.

El objetivo de este programa es el de ser un elemento complementario a los programas de formación para la inserción laboral de desempleados que ya desarrollan los diferentes agentes.
